Bar Chart Report with Variable Timescale.
A standard bar chart including both main and sub headings,
custom coloured task bars with a legend, user logos and titles
in report header, project details and notes section in report
footer. Tasks have been grouped to show several bars on the same
line of the report. The timescale has been divided into three
sections showing six months as a narrow section (15%) at the
left, five months as a larger section (65%) in the centre, and a
forward plan covering seven year quarters (20%) to the right.

Combined Bar Chart and Resource Histogram Report
A summary bar chart report that lists the tasks related to
key stages of a series of current projects. Each project is
included under a separate main heading, with individual tasks
for each section listed on the same line across the page and
using colour to depict the type or class of task. The report
timescale can be selected to show an entire project, or drawn to
a specified date range. Beneath the bar chart is a histogram
showing the requirements for four resources drawn stacked
together. The header and footer regions include custom logos and
legends for both the bar chart and histogram sections. Ref:

As-Built Bar Chart Programme and Documents Received
Report
A custom bar chart report that shows the original planned
work schedule (or baseline) as hollow bars, with the actual
as-built or worked periods drawn in a solid blue. The report
shows a section of a large project, and includes main and sub
headings. Added to the page are a series of coded symbols that
indicate when key documents or decisions were received on the
project, together with the document reference. The header and
footer regions include custom logos and legends for both the bar
chart and coded symbols. Ref: HR-98003

Multiple Resource Histogram Report
A full page histogram report that shows a series of five
project resources drawn in a stacked style on the same graph.
Various colour and fill styles are used to represent the
different resources and the footer area includes a legend and
notes to aid the reader of the report. All standard histogram
reports allow up to eight different resources to be included on
each graph. Ref: HR-98004

Multiple Histograms Summary Report
A single page report that includes four separate graphs
each showing different resource information. Three of the graphs
show the project requirements for a single resource whilst the
final graph draws a total profile summing the values from the
other three. On the single resource graphs the staff
availability levels are drawn, these limits vary over time, and
colour is used to show where limits will be exceeded. The
summary graph uses a different colour for each of the resources.
Legends are included on the report and the footer incorporates a
section of notes added by the originator. Ref: HR-98005

Standard and Cumulative Histogram
A single page histogram that shows a graph of weekly total
manhours for one of the project resources. The histogram is
drawn in the normal block style using a vertical scale on the
left of the page, in addition a cumulative or s-curve style line
graph is superimposed using a second vertical scale to the right
of the page. This example shows only a single resource but like
all Hornet Windmill histogram reports the graphs may include up
to eight different resources on the same graph. The header and
footer regions include custom logos, legends for the chart and a
section for notes or comments. Ref: HR-98006

Standard Double Graph Histogram Report
This report lists two different resources on the page
devoting a separate graph to each of them. The design covers
three different projects - the refurbishment of three machines -
and each histogram shows the resources required for each project
in a separate colour. The graphs show labour requirements in
manhours and the cost of materials for each project. The header
and footer regions include custom logos, legends for the charts
and a section for notes or comments. Ref: HR-98007

Standard Precedence Style Pert Chart or Network
Diagram
This report is a single page network diagram drawn for a
small project using the standard notation; each task being drawn
as a rectangular box (precedence or activity on node style). The
selected tasks are automatically laid out to a grid format
making best use of the space and keeping related tasks together.
Different task types are colour coded and a standard notation
for marking partially and fully completed tasks is applied.
These reports may be produced to span a series of sheets, or
laid out using a fit to page option when the report is to be
printed on a large plotter or printer. Logic links have been
added to the page using an option that ensures individual lines
are not overdrawn. Ref: HR-98008

Standard Arrow Style Pert Chart or Network Diagram
A very similar report to the Precedence Style Network
Diagram above but using the alternative arrow or activity on
arrow style where tasks are drawn as horizontal lines or arrows
between nodes. The layout options for this style of report are
very similar to to the activity on node style and you will see
that the relative positions of all tasks is the same. Task
descriptions, durations and float are added to the task arrows
and the design allows many more tasks to be drawn on a similar
sized sheet of paper. All positioning, sizing, splitting across
multiple sheets and logic link drawing support the same options
as those for the more common activity on node style of report.

Pert Chart or Network Diagram A custom network
diagram that has been drawn in the arrow or activity on arrow
style for a large project; this report is designed for A1 or A0
sized paper. The page layout includes a table listing project
week numbers against date, and the start/finish dates for tasks
have been drawn within the diagram nodes. The layout of this
report has been derived from a manually drawn diagram, with the
task numbers being derived from the row and column numbers on
the grid (task 1219 is on row 12, column 19). This allows Hornet
Windmill to reproduce the client's original design and maintain
a consistent layout even when further tasks are added to the
project. Ref: HR-98010

Progress Pert Chart or Network Diagram
This report draws a section of a large project and is
produced to show the current progress of the tasks. It is drawn
in an arrow or activity on arrow style and includes the
start/finish dates for tasks (drawn within the nodes) and the
relative progress attained on each task (completed tasks are
drawn with a solid fill along the arrow line). Task numbers are
linked to the grid positions used on the report (task 806 is on
row 8, column 6) and the page design includes a table listing
project week numbers against date. Being a small extract from a
project the report is ideally suited to the standard paper size
used for management reports. Ref: HR-98011

Costing Progress Report - Earned Value Graph
This single page report is one of two standard designs
that are used to monitor the costs expended on a project. The
graph shows the cumulative manhours expended on the project as a
line graph drawn against the project timescale. The total budget
for the project is represented as a horizontal line, with the
baseline or planned progress of the project shown as a
traditional envelope; this envelope represents the manhour
expenditure based on the earliest and latest planned dates. The
recorded progress is shown as two lines - the actual hours
expended, and the value hours or earned value hours which give a
more representative measure of progress. The top line shows the
predicted total hours that the project will take to complete
based on current progress rates. The lines are plotted each week
and the general trend of progres for the project - either
slipping or gaining - can be readily spotted. Ref: HR-98012

|
|
Costing Progress Graph - Percentage Efficiency
This is the second of the cost control graphs and plots
the planned and actual costs of a project on a percentage scale
of 0 to 100. The planned and actual progress can be traced
easily and the top line shows the overall efficiency that has
been achieved to date (the factor of earned value manhours to
date - budgetted manhours times percentage complete - over the
actual manhours taken to achieve this). As the project
progresses the lines will indicate the likely time, and actual
cost, of project completion. Ref: HR-98013

Time Location or Time Chainage Chart
This Time Location Chart shows the planned progress of
tasks on a road contract; the report is also suitable for any
linear type of project such as a pipeline, railway or tunnel.
The report plots the planned start and finish of a task against
the actual location it is operating within the site as a
diagonal line. The report can clearly show the progress of tasks
along the line of the road or structure, and where lines run
together will indicate where two tasks will coincide in position
and time. The report will also include fixed structures, such as
bridges and air shafts, and block items that occupy sections for
a fixed period of time. The report is completed by the inclusion
of holidays, user logos and a legend section that details the
colour scheme applied to the symbols. Ref: HR-98014

Sample Symbols, Colours, Fills and Line Styles
A single page test report that shows the wide range of
symbols that can be included on Hornet Windmill reports. The
design includes different line types, fill patterns and colours
that may be applied to all types of report. Ref: HR-98015
