Introduction
This document is designed to give an introduction and overview
to the task of planning and how Hornet can support this task.
There are several names that are used to encompass the role of
planning: network analysis, project management, scheduling,
critical path analysis, and several others. The following pages
give a broad overview to the general subject, defines the terms
and functions used by Hornet and explains the internal workings
that the computer system uses to provide the results and reports
you use.
You will find that much of the information is general in nature,
it can be found in several text books. The text is just as
applicable to a manual method of analysing project plans as it is
to the use of Hornet and other Project Planning computer systems.
