New Features

Hornet Windmill V7.3 is the new release of Hornet Windmill for all 32 bit Windows operating systems - Windows 95 and Windows NT (versions 3.5.1 or later).

This version of the system includes all the facilities of earlier Hornet Windmill versions plus new features and facilities listed below.

Note:
Hornet Windmill version 7.3.1 will not run on 16 bit Windows operating systems (Windows 3.1. and 3.11 ) and users with this release of Windows should continue to use Hornet Windmill version 7.2.

• Full 32 bit Windows implementation for all Hornet features and modules.
• New Hornet Windmill Control Panel that gives direct access to key functions within the system.
• Automatically displays the Data Grid/Bar Chart panel on opening an existing project.
• Simplified access for small to medium sized projects that do not use the subnetwork facilities.
• Enhanced data grid displays with improved control for re-sizing and moving columns.
• Cell Tips facility on data grids that give task details for the current row or descriptive text for the data column.
• Extended toolbar giving direct access to key functions; ability to customise the toolbar on main display panel.
• Toolbar buttons to link sequentially, link in parallel or break logic links between selected tasks.
• Direct access to editing Calendar Resource and Coding definitions from the main Task Data Grid/Bar Chart Display.
• Extended prompt facilities when defining utility files for report configuration.
• New task scheduling engine that includes Time Limited Scheduling and Duration Scheduling facilities.
• Extended scheduling and data storage capacities enabling projects in excess of 32 thousand tasks (capacities are truly unlimited).
• Enhanced Resource Spreadsheet with extended toolbar and search facilities.
• New reports for output in HTML format for direct use on the Internet.
• New Logic Trace report that will identify the threads of task logic - either precedents or successors - through the project for a given task.
• Completely new Report Wizard that enables fully functional bar chart and tabular reports to be produced that include both the specific values you require and all standard heading and grouping facilities.
• All standard report suites have been compiled into single utility files with full descriptive naming to simplify the selection of required reports.
• Direct access to all Standard Reports and scheduling facilities from the main Task Data Grid/Bar Chart panel.
• Prepared reports for Network Diagrams and Time Location produced in a single output file to simplify sending of reports via the Internet.
• Improved layout control in GraWin to automatically set paper orientation on the output device.
• Extended font selection in reports to display different elements (e.g. headings, annotations) in various fonts and font styles.
• Extended help system giving full details on all aspects of the Hornet Windmill system.
• On-line documentation in the form of PDF files that can be viewed/printed using the supplied Acrobat Reader. Documents include Getting Started, the full User Guide and the Reports Technical Manual.
• On-line training and tutorial worksheets that cover key areas of Hornet Windmill and give step by step instructions on using the system.
