Q: When I open a project I get the message Project data file may be corrupt with illegal indexes.. What does this mean and what should I do?
A: When Hornet Windmill opens a project it checks that the task identifiers (a series of unique numbers automatically allocated to tasks) in the data files are valid and run correctly - this error is displayed if a fault has been found in the numbering sequence. To correct this, end the current Hornet Windmill session and make a backup copy of the project data directory (make a copy of the directory onto disk or to another area on your hard disk using Windows Explorer), then open the project in Hornet Windmill. From the Main Control Panel, select the File menu, Database Utilities, Backup and Restore to display a dialog panel. Click the Backup Data in Windmill Format button. When completed click on the Restore Data from Backup Files. Finally close Hornet Windmill and restart and open the project again. If all is OK then you can delete your backup copy of the project, if not OK then please call Hornet Support.
