An educational version of a major project management software
package has been specially produced for colleges to include in their
engineering and management courses.
The authors of the package, Hornet Windmill, have been
approached by a number of colleges to make an integrated project
management, planning and control methods package available for
teaching.
The Hornet Windmill package combines a full version of the
Hornet Windmill for Windows system software, backed up by on-line
product documentation and tutorial and course notes on a single
CD-Rom.
"Many management and engineering courses include a basic
introduction to scheduling and planning techniques", said Dr
Simon Barber, one of the authors.
"Prime objectives of this teaching package are hands-on
experience of typical project management software reinforced by a
solid introduction to the methods and principles that can be
applied by colleges when giving an insight into the key role of
engineering management".
"The package we have produced has been very well received
by colleges to date and we are writing to others so that they may
consider the relevance of the system to their own course material".
The total Hornet Windmill package is offered to bona-fide
educational establishments at less than one third of a single user
system in the commercial field.
The Hornet Windmill project planning and control software
together with support registration for the first year is £495.
Colleges wishing to find out more about the offer can contact
Hornet
Windmill direct or visit their web site.
